Water Minister's Climate Innovation Challenge Award Ceremony

In May 2023 the Hon Harriet Shing MLC, Minister for Water, launched the Water Minister’s Climate Innovation Challenge and asked IWN to establish and administer it.

In collaboration with the Minister for Water and DEECA, IWN invited all Victorian water corporations to take part in this exciting new challenge that encourages innovation, collaboration, and sustainable thinking.

With a prize pool of $85 000 up for grabs, we looked for projects that improve climate resilience through reducing the effects impacts of climate change or finding new ways and opportunities to respond to these impacts.

We received many high-quality submissions from which six submissions were invited to participate in a Final Pitch Event on 17 November 2023.

Today's event, is a celebration of the hard work and focus across our water industry to make a positive and lasting impact on climate change by reducing carbon emissions, improving water conservation practices, reducing waste, and employing innovative sustainable approaches.
