MRWA product portal update

After formally launching the MRWA product portal update on 16th May 19, South East Water held an information and training session with participating Water Agencies on 20th June 19. The session was attended by regional water authority administrators and the presented information was well received.

The MRWA Portal was initially a collaboration of South East Water, Yarra Valley Water and City West Water and as per the aims of the IWN’s Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing program, was about joint benefits to the participating water corporations.

Access was expanded to nine other regional corporations: Barwon Water, Central Highlands Water, Coliban Water, Gippsland Water, Goulburn Valley Water, Lower Murray Water, South Gippsland Water, Wannon Water and Western Water.

The MRWA Product Web Portal enables users to search and obtain details of adopted industry standards, products and materials currently accepted by the corporations for the installation of pipeline systems and associated Infrastructure works. The MRWA do not give preference to any particular make or type of product included in the portal and may include additional equivalent products in accordance with their product appraisal programs.

Since the launch of the updated product portal, the participating water agency administrators have been working with the South East Water portal supervisor to get their preferred products approved and published. The team at South East Water is now working on improving the user experience further by adding new features such as ‘bulk notification system’ to the existing portal. An updated Web portal User guide has also been developed and ready for publication and distribution to the participating water agency administrators.
